Communities (free, anonymous)
- r/pornfree — the most grounded quit-porn community on Reddit: practical, low-dogma, focused on quitting porn/OF rather than ideology.
- r/NoFap — much bigger, more intense culture; valuable for accountability threads and the sheer volume of guys on the same road.
- r/Healthygamergg — Dr. K’s community; strong on the loneliness, gaming-adjacent, and mental-health side of compulsive internet use. Their videos on parasocial relationships are directly relevant to OnlyFans.
- A note on OF-specific threads: search Reddit for “OnlyFans addiction” and you’ll find dozens of honest first-person threads. Reading them helps with the “I’m the only one this stupid” lie. You are not. Not remotely.
Professional help
- AASECT referral directory — certified sex therapists who work with compulsive sexual behavior without shame or agenda.
- Psychology Today therapist finder — filter for “sex addiction” or “compulsive behavior”; most profiles show price and insurance up front.
- SAA (Sex Addicts Anonymous) — free 12-step meetings, in person and online, for compulsive sexual behavior.
- SMART Recovery — free, science-based (non-12-step) meetings that cover behavioral addictions including porn and spending.
Money repair
- NFCC — the US network of nonprofit credit counselors: free or low-cost budgeting help and debt-management plans. If OF spending became card debt, start here, not with a for-profit “debt relief” ad.
- r/personalfinance wiki — the standard, excellent, free playbook for digging out and building the replacement habit of paying yourself.
- 1-800-GAMBLER (National Problem Gambling Helpline) — if the spending loop feels like gambling, that’s because it runs on the same machinery, and gambling counselors understand compulsive spending better than almost anyone. Calling about paid-content spending is a legitimate use of the line.
If it’s heavier than that
- 988 — the US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988, 24/7. Money shame and secret debt are exactly the kind of weight people carry alone until it gets dangerous. Don’t.
- findahelpline.com — crisis lines for every country, if you’re outside the US.
Blocking tools (quick list)
Covered in depth in the block guide: Screen Time (iPhone), BlockerX / Stay Focused (Android), Cold Turkey (desktop), NextDNS / CleanBrowsing / OpenDNS FamilyShield (network), Covenant Eyes / Accountable2You (accountability), and your own bank’s card-lock and virtual-card features (the layer that actually works).
